The Rising Star Scholarship recognizes designers in the Master of Interior Design Certification Program at Heritage School of Interior Design in Portland, Oregon. Kush Rugs founders Rebecca Lurie and Brian Robins were both awarded academic scholarships that enabled them to pursue their passion. It is their intention to pay it forward and assist the next generation of interior designers.
There will be one scholarship per term (Fall, Winter/Spring) available to all Portland students who are enrolled in the Master of Interior Design Certification Program. The scholarship recipient will receive $4,000.
As part of our application process, candidates are invited to showcase their creativity and passion by submitting an inspiration board. This board can take various forms, whether it’s a digital collage, a physical creation, or a collection of images and materials that encapsulate their unique design vision.
We believe that inspiration is at the heart of great design, and we’re excited to see how each applicant’s board reflects their personal aesthetic, influences, and aspirations as future interior designers.
Moreover, we encourage applicants to share with us how receiving this scholarship will impact their journey towards success in the field of interior design. Whether it’s through further education, gaining valuable experience, or pursuing innovative projects, we want to understand how this opportunity will empower them to realize their full potential.
We’re committed to supporting emerging talent in the world of interior design, and we can’t wait to see the creativity and passion that each applicant brings to the table.
