Fundamentals of Interior Design

Turn your passion for design into a professional career with our Fundamentals of Interior Design Program. This dynamic program is your pathway to the interior design industry, combining hands-on projects with essential knowledge in color theory, design history, lighting, the design process, socially responsible design and so much more.

You’ll embark on an exciting journey of four residential design projects, each building your portfolio and refining your unique style. These projects lead to the pinnacle of the program—designing a full residential home. From concept to presentation, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned to create a stunning, cohesive, and functional residential space.

The program immerses you in the local design community through weekly field visits to showrooms, design firms, manufacturers and more, where you’ll connect with industry experts and gain valuable networking opportunities.

Master Certificate Program

This program combines the Fundamentals of Interior Design Certificate with a series of required courses that provide students with a comprehensive, business-minded interior design education as well as a final portfolio presentation to give students a well-rounded education and competitive portfolio. The Master Certificate Program requires completion of the following state-of-the-art technical courses:

Financing Options

HSID Utah offers tuition payment options that include:

Pay in Full: A one-time payment due one week prior to the start date of the Fundamentals of Interior Design course.

Fundamentals Program Payment Plan: 3 equal monthly payments; with the first installment due one week prior to the start date of the Fundamentals of Interior Design course and the final payment due one week prior to the end of the term. Tuition must be satisfied prior to graduation from the Fundamentals of Interior Design course.

Master’s Certificate Program Payment Plan: 3, 6, or 9 equal monthly payments, with the first installment due one week prior to the start date of the Fundamentals of Interior Design course. Tuition must be satisfied two weeks prior to graduation from the Professional Certificate Program.

NOTE: A service fee of 3% will be added to each payment made with a credit or debit card, including each of the payments for the monthly payment plans.
