Students receive a Certification in Interior Custom Design once they complete the Fundamentals of Interior Design Program. In this program, students develop a competitive portfolio and expansive knowledge base which empowers them to work in the Interior Design industry. Projects include the full design and presentation of two residential spaces, including an entire home as the final project. Additional client-specific and hands-on design projects are incorporated throughout the course to ensure learning and presentation skills. This program puts equal focus toward core design knowledge, design expression and business practices that enable students to become successful industry professionals. Students attend weekly field visits that connect them to the people, places and processes within the local industry. In addition to field visits, recognized professionals in the industry are invited as guest speakers.
A general overview of program topics is outlined below and subject to change. A detailed syllabus is provided upon enrollment.
