We are proud to highlight Jacque Fitzpatrick, one of our talented students at Heritage School of Interior Design Denver. With a background in real estate, Jacque has cultivated a unique skill set and a deep appreciation for thoughtfully designed spaces. Her journey into interior design is both inspiring and filled with a love for creativity, family, and personal growth. Let’s explore her story and the inspiration behind her work.
Tell us about your background – Where are you from? What was your career path prior to HSID?
I was born and raised in Five Points, Denver. My first career was as an account and agent manager at Keller Williams, where I spent a lot of time helping agents promote their home listings. Seeing those homes always deeply inspired me!
Why did you decide to pursue interior design as your career?
After four years, the pandemic prompted me to reflect on my true passion within real estate, which I realized was the homes themselves. My appreciation for design and decor led me to take a leap and start my own home staging company. Since then, I’ve staged over 60 homes, including one recent project that stands out as the most beautiful home I’ve ever stepped foot in. Meeting with the interior designer for that project was such an inspiring experience that it ultimately motivated me to pursue interior design on a deeper level and expand my work beyond staging.
What drew you to select HSID for your education?
I chose the Heritage School of Interior Design’s Master’s Certification Program because I had personally heard excellent reviews. As a new mom, I also wanted a program that was accelerated, in-person, and fit into my busy schedule.
What is your future career goal as an interior designer?
As we approach graduation, I’ve discovered that I would love to work for a firm that specializes in both commercial and residential design, allowing me to apply both skill sets.
Where do you draw your design inspiration?
I draw inspiration from so many aspects of my daily life, especially from travel! My daughter’s imagination consistently gives me fresh ideas and reminds me that life is colorful—and our spaces should be, too. Additionally, traveling offers new perspectives on combining materials and colors, enriching my design approach with every journey.
