We are so excited to announce that the Heritage School of Interior Design in Denver has expanded! With an additional classroom, we are now holding two Fundamentals of Interior Design day certification courses and two sets of technical rendering courses simultaneously. Collaboration between the two classes provides students a uniquely remarkable opportunity for learning. The specialties and expertise of two instructors provides them with an even more well-rounded perspective on Interior Design, while maintaining small individual class sizes.
Seven new talented instructors have joined the Heritage Denver Team to teach Fundamentals, Kitchen & Bath Design, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, InDesign & Photoshop and Commercial Design. Please check out their bios on our website under “Denver Team”. We are unwavering in our mission to empower the creativity of aspiring designers with a quality, hands on education and with our additional space, new instructors, and unique workshops, we hope to continue delivering an outstanding experience.
We have introduced evening supplemental courses, to allow Saturday Fundamentals Program students the opportunity to complete the entire Master’s Certification and to allow working professionals in the local design community to further their skills. We have enhanced our core curriculum by adding workshops, taught by local guest artists and designers, to teach students the nuances of creating and communicating brilliant design concepts, and are planning portfolio-building and resume-writing workshops to help prepare them for interviews in the Interior Design industry.
The demand for Interior Designers in the Denver area has never been greater as we are one the fastest growing cities in the nation. In 2017 and early 2018, more than $1.35 billion in new development in downtown Denver was completed. As of mid-2018, there are 27 projects under construction and 8 planned for development downtown alone. The projected 2018 additions of 4,525 residential units, 772 hotel rooms, and 2.7 million square feet of office to downtown Denver is illustrative of the ever growing need for skilled designers in the area.
From 2010 to 2017 Denver saw a 26% growth in jobs, ranking 5th in the nation. If the growth of the Denver job market alone is not enough, Denver ranks:
- 1st Top metro for small business employment (Paychex, 2018)
- 3rd Fastest growing large city (WalletHub, 2018)
- 3rd Best place to live in the U.S. (US News and World Report 2018)
- 4th Best place for business and careers (Forbes, 2017)
- 4th Best city for working women (MagnifyMoney, 2018)
